CLASS I.      THE GREAT WALL           6 ENTRIES
     A contemporary design to be exhibited on a pedestal 24” wide by 18” deep and 40” from the floor. To be viewed from all sides.
     CONTEMPORARY DESIGN: flower arranging not following traditional styles or geometric pattern; using imagination and creativity to devise new approaches to the selection and organization of plant material and other components according to the principles and elements of design.

CLASS II.      CAVES OF THE THOUSAND BUDDHAS      6 ENTRIES
     A novice class. A modern mass design displayed in a framed opening 26” wide by 24” deep by 36” high and 42” from the floor. To be viewed from the front.
     MODERN MASS: a massed arrangement including a profusion of a limited variety of plant materials. Emphasis is placed on blocks of color, contrasting forms and textures, and bold design. Containers are generally plain.

CLASS III.      ASCENDING THE HINDU KUSH WITH MARCO POLO            6 ENTRIES
     A free style design to be exhibited on a pedestal 16” wide by 16” deep and 40” from the floor. To be viewed from all sides.
     FREE STYLE: arranger is free to use any contemporary design style.

CLASS IV. EAST MEETS WEST 6 ENTRIES
     A contemporary design incorporating flowers and branches to be exhibited on a pedestal 16” wide by 16” deep and 40” from the floor. To be viewed from all sides.
     CONTEMPORARY DESIGN: flower arranging not following traditional styles or geometric pattern; using imagination and creativity to devise new approaches to the selection and organization of plant material and other components according to the principles and elements of design.

CLASS V.      PERSIAN MINIATURES           6 ENTRIES
     A miniature arrangement to be displayed in a niche 8” wide by 8” deep and 10” high and approximately 52” from the floor.
     MINIATURE: a diminutive arrangement which is not more than five inches in height, width and depth with all of its components.

CLASS VI. DINING WITH GENGHIS KHAN 6 ENTRIES
     A vignette to be displayed on a floor space enclosed on three sides, 4’ wide and 6’ deep. To be viewed from the front. Minimally worded statement of intent required on the entry card.
     VIGNETTE: functional segment of an indoor or outdoor living space containing furniture, accessories and flower arrangement. Container grown plants are permitted.

     Invitational Challenge class open to Garden Club of America Judges
