GARDEN CLUB SHOW RETURNSHonolulu’s biggest flower event—The Garden Club of Honolulu’s major flower and horticulture show—happens only once every three years, and it returns to the Honolulu Museum of Art on May 11 to 13. The theme for this year’s show is Echoes of Rainbows, selected for the magical optical phenomenon so common in the islands. The show will include spectacular exhibits of floral design, horticulture, photography, and botanical jewelry. In addition, the special conservation/educational exhibit “Colors of Sustainability” will promote awareness of sustainable growing practices through the use of native plant materials. The Garden Club of Honolulu’s show is one of only nine major flower shows being held nationwide in 2012, with 70 judges coming from the U.S. Mainland to select the winners.
