Floral Design Committee encourages all members to participate in floral design activities, including the Floral Design Division of all flower shows. By practicing the Principles of Design in our monthly workshops, we grow the artistry of this discipline regardless of expertise and experience.

PAST EVENTS
FLORAL DESIGN CREATIVE PROCESS WORKSHOP
March was floral design month, with our general meeting at the Royal Hawaiian Golf Club on March 8th. “A Floral Tide” with guest speaker Debbie Stockstill from the Monroe Garden Study League in Louisiana spoke to our members on the “ebb and flow of the creative process.”
The following day, a workshop was held at Atherton Halau. Debbie put this creative process to work as members constructed beautiful floral designs inspired by the artistic images of three surfboards. Every interpretation had its own spin, keeping in mind the principles and elements of design.
FLORAL DESIGN COLOR WORKSHOP
A Floral Design “Color Theory” workshop was taught on February 9th by Dotty Nitta, Bertie Lee, and Julie Sandvold. TGCH Floral Design members learned about the extraction and bridging of colors, and with this lesson, they made beautiful floral bouquets! Just look at the gorgeous colors!
WORKSHOP AT ATHERTON HALAU
On Jan 18th, our Floral Design students came together at the Atherton Halau under the tutelage of Kitty Wo, who taught an Interpretive Design workshop. They had the choice of two images by Georgia O’Keefe for interpretation into a floral design. As you can see from the photos, creativity and imagination were abundant in their creations. Thank you Kitty for much inspiration!
WORKSHOP AT BELLA ROSA
Floral Design held its first 2022-23 workshop at Bella Rosa Wholesale Florist. We had 15 members attend Jan Tucker and Stacey Hugh’s class: Finding Your Balance and it was a new experience for our Floral Design members as the ladies could see what goes on behind the scenes at a floral warehouse. Bella Rosa’s staff were busy checking in and processing the early morning deliveries of flowers as their customers arrive to pick up their orders. The workshop inspired these members to explore their artistic talents working with flowers. It was a fun day for all.
